Course Participants & Period:
3-5 candidates per batch for 6 days

Curriculum:
The 6 days long course would mainly focus on the blocks given for surgical procedures extended to acute and chronic pain management including interventional pain management. Herein the attending doctor would be closely observing all the techniques in the OT. For theoretical references, there is a library within the hospital premises which can be used. The doctor would be given an opportunity to perform the technique once or twice, which would depend on the patient profile with the guide discretion.

Course Fees:
Rs. 10,000/- (service tax extra as applicable)
The fee is for the course alone and does not include the cost of lodging and boarding. Accommodation will be provided by the hospital by prior confirmation. Accommodation Charges will be extra, not included in course fees.

Eligibility :
Participant must be a medical graduate (MBBS) from any recognized university approved by MCI. Participant must have completed one year residency from a recognized Hospital in the following disciplines: Anesthesiology, Orthopedics, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, Neurosurgery, and General Medicine. Desirable: Post-graduate degree/diploma in Anesthesiology or above disciplines.

Instructions to the Trainees:
1. Participants are instructed to come with the primary knowledge of surface anatomy of peripheral nerves and plexus.
2. The minimum number of hours in the hospital is 10 hrs. (8 AM to 6 PM)
3. The course manual provided by Aesculap Academy will serve as a good guide and hence the trainees are urged to have the book with them all the time.
4. The hands-on- training will be done only in the presence of a course faculty and only after obtaining consent from the patient.
5. The participant can interact with the faculty throughout the course days and get their doubts cleared

Surface Anatomy of upper Extremity Block

Day -2

Complications of Peripheral Nerve Blocks
Use of Regional Anesthesia in management of Pain
Equipments in Regional Anaesthesia

Ambulatory infusion pumps in regional anaesthesia with pain management (Interventions that will be discussed/demonstrated)-
1. Brachial Plexus Block: Different approaches
2. Femoral Nerve Block
3. Sciatic Nerve Block

Day -3

Continuous Perineural Catheterization
Discussion of stimulation and non stimulation catheters
Combined Spinal Epidural Anaesthesia
Live demonstration of Blocks
CRPS
Phantom limb pain
Discussion of Migraine and Trigeminal neuralgia

Fibromyalgia with Myofascial Pain Syndrome (Interventions that will be discussed / demonstrated):
1. Stellate ganglion block
2. Lumber sympathetic block
3. Trigger Point injections
4. Gasserian ganglion with branches of Trigeminal Nerve Block
5. Sphenopalatine ganglion block

Day -4

Hands on for Trainees (Tutoring their handson)
Evaluation of Spinal Pain
Interventions in the management of spinal pain (Interventions that will be discussed / demonstrated):
1. Caudal Epidural block with Epidurogram
2. Cervical Epidural block
3. Transforaminal Epidural/ Selective nerve root block
4. Facet Joint Block
5. Sacro-Iliac Joint Block
6. Epidural Neuroplasty

Rescue Blocks

Advances Pain Management procedures pain (Interventions that will be discussed / demonstrated):
Ozone nucleolysis
